Fall Arrest Systems Training. BHP DRI would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the excellent training sessions that you carried out for foremen, supervisors and managers at Boodarie during July. The training in all aspects of use harnesses and the correct restraint attachment practices allows these people to confidently approach the workforce they are supervising and discuss and correct work practices being employed. You are to be congratulated on your presentation and the fact that you advise on the correct equipment to be used for the application no matter who is the manufacturer. We believe your presentation should be made available to all personnel that supervise a section of the workforce that need to wear fall restraint equipment to undertake their work safely. We wish you all the best in your training endeavours and would only be too happy to discuss our experience with your prospective customers should they so wish.

Just a quick note to say that after 8 years as WorkSafe WA Inspector and Working at Heights Coordinator, I am now working as a Safety Inspector at the New MetrolRail Project (Public Transport Authority). Dawson-AOC Water Services is an alliance contractor to the Water Corporation of Western Australia and have been associated with Heightech Safety Systems for years. In striving for excellence in OSH in our workplace we have on many occasions called on Heightech to provide services in, Fall Arrest and Confined Space Training, product supply, onsite system set-up and technical advise. The training courses and the training rig at the O'Connor Training Facility have been tailored by Heightech to suit our particular industry, work practices and procedures. Where requested the training has been run on our sites. The Master Builders Association of WA has always strived to provide an excellent service in Occupational Safety and Health to its members and others in the metropolitan and regional areas. On many occasions the MBA has sought the services of other professional training providers, especially with regard to height safety and working in confined spaces. Work at height in the construction industry can be high risk and in regard to this, MBA has always made height safety a priority. On occasions MBA has used the services of Heightech Safety Systems who has always provided the MBA with a very professional and informative program in regard to height safety and training on confined spaces.

Attended the ARAA open day on Sat 17/06/17. Brilliant facilities and a relaxed atmosphere provided by Andy Clarke. Challenged my skills with vertical aid climbing and rescue and had some market leading products on display and available for trial. Andy's friendly and professional manner made this a great day and I learnt some tips and techniques to help my rope access tasks. Highly recommend contacting Andy for any rope access enquiries.

Thanks for your email from June asking if the Soft Landing System is an acceptable fall injury prevention system and if that system fits the intent of the WA OSH Regulations. Before I answer your questions I need to clarify a few points about legal requirements in WA. As you are aware WorkSafe WA enforces the occupational Safety and Health Act and Regulations to ensure safe workplaces in WA. There are number of regulations related specifically to working at heights and the application of the Soft Landing System. I will summarise some of them below. Regulation 3.48 of the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations 1996, defines a "fall injury prevention system" as a system designed to: (a) arrest a person's fall from one level at a workplace to another; and (b) minimise the risk of injury or harm to a person who falls from one level at a workplace to another. Regulation 3.49 requires a risk assessment to be conducted and control measures to be in place to reduce the risk of falling from one level to another (regardless of how high the edge is). Regulation 3.55 states, among other things, that the main contractor, employer, self employed person or the person having control of the workplace must ensure that a fall injury prevention system is provided and in operation whenever there is a risk that a person could fall 2 or 3 metres depending of the type of edge on which a person is working. So, returning to your question, I believe the Soft Landing System complies with the intents of the Occupational Safety Act and Regulations by ensuring that a fall injury prevention system is in place to minimise the risk of an injury after a fall. It is important to note that a specific site risk assessment must be conducted to address site specific issues and to ensure all workers are aware of the way of installing and maintaining the Soft Landing System.

Credibility when training field people is essential to the success of the training. Thank you for running your safety at height course for our personnel. The Fire Service personnel enjoyed the opportunity to experience the scope of the information that you deliver to the industry. Courses such as this will hopefully assist in lowering the incidence of injuries to workers and costs to the community. Fire Services of Western Australia are heavily committed to a presentatitve approach to reduce fatalities and injuries within the community and to reduce as much as practicable the exposure of Fire and Rescue personnel to unnecessary risk. An improved relationship between distributors of safety products, providers of training, employers and the Fire and Rescue Service with no doubt help to facilitate a better preventative focus. [GR] some of the best service I have ever received. First I called and wasn't able to reach a team member as everyone was busy. But within 10 minutes I had a call from a smart and well knowledgable young lad (stuart?) who made it very clear his sole purpose was to under promise and over deliver with my new irata kit and that is what he did by midday the following day $2500 worth of gear was in my hands. I was always sceptical buying online and having items delivered. I will be back and I will be letting everyone know about you guys

TWO DAY ACCREDITED CONFINED SPACE COURSE COURSE APPRAISAL. Further to the attendance of BGC Hydrotechnics senior management, design engineers and plant installation subcontractors at your two day accredited 'Working in Confined Spaces' course, we would like to offer some feedback as compiled by the attendees: (i) Course Content. The theoretical course content was particularly relevant: the previously unknown or unrecognised dangers; recognition of a confined space as now defined by law; the importance of risk assessment by trained personnel; risk avoidance/management; the importance of a predetermined, rehearsed and understood rescue procedure for all confined space situations; relevant PPE; monitoring equipment; rescue equipment; and each team member's duty of care obligations. The second day of practical was just as relevant: the different types of PPE, monitoring equipment, safety equipment and rescue equipment. Putting the theory into practice in 'real ' situations only consolidated the learning process - our design engineer got a great deal of design feedback on issues such as opening sizes down to building in support brackets at the edge of our pump stations to accommodate a lifting/rescue tripod. (ii) Presentation. The theory presentation was superbly balanced between slides, verbal instruction, very pertinent video excerpts and controlled, participative talk back. Similarly, the practical aspects were well balanced between self discovery and direct instruction when required. (iii) Overall Appraisal. You will probably have realised by the enthusiastic and participative attitude of the attendees that we all considered the course a great success in terms of our new found confidence to tackle all types of confined space work and of tremendous benefit to all of the team's members in their individual areas of responsibility. Having completed the course, BGC Hydrotechnics would strongly recommend your course as obligatory for ALL personnel (management, staff and workers) involved in any aspect of construction, mining, process plant operation or any other domestic/industrial situation involving confined space working. We can only end by thanking you on behalf of all the attendees for an interesting, entertaining and excellently presented course. However, perhaps of much more relevance is our sincere thanks for the future injuries avoided and lives saved within our team.

There has been some excellent feedback on the Confined Space Entry course which has been delivered by Heightech. It addresses relevance to comply with AS2865(2001) and other standard pertaining to working at height and the specific PPE. Rolling this in with SCBA, Gas monitoring, Rescue and Working safety is truly a One Stop Shop course. I have also seen that the specific 'on site training' makes it very user friendly and the practicality has also been overwhelming. Therefore the relevance: Oil & Gas, Maritime operations and Construction. Helped benefit our company business and safety operations immensely. We are now looking at engaging your course in other operations located in Malaysia, Vietnam and India, within the Atwood Oceanics in the Australasia region. Although some feedback pertains to the food, it is certainly a High Quality, Consistent and Relevant course to meet legal requirements. Our major clients Woodside, BHP & Shell are also impressed. The sessions were flexible, informative and easily understood by everyone who attended. There has been positive feedback from all levels, managers, supervisors and the workforce. We would like to congratulate yourselves on the 100% effort placed on the presentations and first rate demonstrations.

On the 29th of August a vehicle belonging to KBR Water Services was broken into and equipment was stolen by persons unknown. One of the items stolen was the Genesis Atmospheric Monitor Case and contents (excluding the monitor itself). The case was later discovered by a member of the public and returned to Heightech Safety Systems having seen the address on the stickers on the case. The member of the public was rewarded for the returned item. Later the same day KBR Water Services received a call from Heightech Safety Systems informing of the returned item. The case with all its contents intact were returned to KWS at no cost to the company. Please accept our grateful thanks for the honesty and integrity that you and your employees have shown in returning the item to KWS. An act of this manner demonstrates the close working relationship, alignment and integrity Heightech has with its clients. KWS is looking forward to the continuing development of our good business relationship with your company.

In the 5 years or so of Readymix's association with Heightech, we have found them to be extremely valuable in the areas of training (eg Work at Heights and Confined Spaces) due to their practical focus and adult learning applications that ensure our employees and contractors are trained to the required competence and confidence to work within a mining and quarrying environment. The 16 New Inspectors from WorkSafe's Construction and Workplace Branches received practical training in height safety last week at Heightech training centre. Your instructor delivered an excellent presentation on the practical aspects of height safety and explained the safe use, inspection and training requirements. He also responded to a number of questions from the Inspectors. As WorkSafe's Working at Heights Coordinator, I received very positive feedback from the new inspectors and the Department's Training Coordinator. It was clear that the content was particularly relevant to them and the presentation was informative with the right amount of energy, good humour and hands on experience. I have already written to your instructor to pass my appreciation for his contribution and I thought I would also pass on to you this feedback. Our sincere thanks to you for your donation of insulated mugs and torches for our recent Flog Day (Golf), held on 23rd November, at the Chequers Golf Club. This year we had 72 players tee off, many of whom are not regular golfers.. Our aim was to make it a fun day and to entice as many people as possible, who don't usually play golf, to join in.
