MAESTRO rescue descenders: when facing the unexpected

What are the differences between each version?

Both the MAESTRO S and MAESTRO L have the same design and features. The differences between each model are rope diameter compatibility (10.5 mm to 11.5 mm for the MAESTRO S, and 12.5 mm to 13 mm for the MAESTRO L) and maximum load (250 kg for the MAESTRO S and 280 kg for the MAESTRO L).

When you want to have your hands free to perform a manipulation, tie-off the GRIGRI. Make sure to correctly lock the tie-off. You may let go of the brake side of the rope only when the device is tied off.

When should I retire my equipment?

A product must be retired when:

• It is over 10 years old and made of plastic or textiles
• It has been subjected to a major fall or load
• It fails to pass inspection
• Its reliability is in question
• Its entire history is not known (e.g. found or second-hand product)
• When it becomes obsolete due to changes in legislation, standards, technique or incompatibility with other equipment, etc.
